Green Procurement Initiative: Five Films That Start With a Lunchbox

Net-zero transition needs many people. The association's first advocacy campaign did not start with policy or carbon accounting. It started with what we buy. In April 2026 the association published the five-part "Green Procurement Supply Chain Initiative" series on its YouTube channel, five to six minutes each, advocating with its green-innovation partners for a net-zero procurement platform that helps every consumer and every company find the green products and services they need.

Why start with procurement

One of the association's missions is to encourage companies and their stakeholders to bring environmental protection and net-zero transition into corporate responsibility and core governance, with the Benefit Corporation as the model. Governance sounds distant; procurement is a decision every company and every person makes daily. Producers willing to farm and manufacture in environmentally friendly ways still need people who recognise and choose them. Only then does net-zero move from slogan to market. The series exists to make those producers visible.

What the five films say

  • Episode 1: Net-zero needs many people. Meet the partners advocating a net-zero procurement platform together.
  • Episode 2: Every meal is a vote for a sustainable future. Choose producers who use environmentally friendly ingredients, and even a lunchbox can build that future.
  • Episode 3: Natural carbon sinks matter in the transition. How producers and consumers can work together so that products with carbon-sink benefits, and the people who make them, are recognised.
  • Episode 4: Tea, coffee and chocolate are long-term crops. Cutting emissions in their production is a real green-transition challenge: deliver the flavour, and bring sustainability into it.
  • Episode 5: Net-zero production also needs an aesthetic of taste. The transition builds core competitiveness and tells people responsibly how we produce, so they understand what they eat and choose the gentlest way to live with nature.

All five films are on the Our advocacy page, in order.

Next: lowering the barrier to knowledge

The films are a starting point. The association's next stage is a library of professional digital courses on net-zero transition, circular economy and ecological restoration, with instructors, teaching materials and post-production. Finished courses will be donated to schools or broadcast openly on a designated platform, serving the general public, university and graduate students, and learners in the Marshall Islands. A parallel track works with universities on courses that train the green-collar talent the transition needs.

If your company is looking for green-innovation products and services, or you are a producer working in friendly ways who has not yet been seen, we would like to hear from you.
